WJA Admissions

The Washington Jesuit Academy is an Independent / Catholic Middle School for boys from low-income and underserved communities in grades 4th-8th. All students attend on full scholarship once admitted and financial criteria is met. WJA places heavy emphasis on an academically challenging curriculum, character development and extracurricular involvement, preparing them for strong academic college-prep high schools.

WJA is known for having motivated, conscientious, hard-working students and highly qualified teachers. The school takes pride in its small class sizes, extended day (7:30am-6:30pm) extended year (11 months) program, mandatory 5-week Summer Enrichment Program, and Graduate Support Program.

Applying to WJA

We will begin accepting applications for the 2018‑2019 school year in January 2018.

To apply, you will need to:

  • Submit an application form, including school records and financial information (to ensure that all students meet the financial qualifications)
  • Participate in a Saturday Admissions Session; including a placement test, student and parent interview, and classroom observation
  • Successfully complete our 5-week Summer Enrichment Program
